“Racquel Kwe” (Racquel Banaszak) is a local Anishinaabe artist based in Minneapolis who specializes in mixed media visual art and handcrafted Indigenous
beadwork. She first started beading with her mother and aunties around a table when she was 10. Her work focuses on Indigenous histories, lifeways, and contemporaryrepresentation. Racquel Banaszak (Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe) is a visual artist and Indigenous education advocate based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned a graduate certificate in Native American Studies from Montana State University (2018) and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (2012). She studied Aboriginal Visual Culture at the Ontario College of Art & Design University in Toronto, Canada.
