Teach children about important Indigenous role models with this set of 21 flashcards!
These cards were developed in consultation with Indigenous folks who were willing to share their knowledge about what was important for children to know about Indigenous peoples and cultures. There was one resounding theme: resiliency. These cards teach children that Indigenous peoples are resilient, and that they are still here, rather than part of history. They also feature the illustrations by Landon Kenney-Shoemaker, an Indigenous Canadian artist (Ojibwe).
Twenty of the flashcards are dedicated to highlighting important Indigenous Americans and Canadians, while the final flashcard highlights handpicked websites and books to teach children more about Indigenous peoples and cultures.
