Each solid slice of hard wood is sanded for hours until it is smooth perfection by Minneapolis artist Lauren Strom. The artist then lets the wood grain guide her color choices. She mixes watercolor techniques with hard straight lines allowing the raw wood to guide her. The finished piece of art is infused with emotions the artist felt while painting hope, love, and joy. It becomes an artifact of emotions and a physical reminder of hope.
