The Victorian Maiden series consists of illustrations taken from a 19th century book (which I ruthlessly took apart, so it wouldn't just sit moldering on a shelf). I hand-colored the illustrations and then worked them into various combinations with cat photos. The other pieces are vintage photographs mounted on various backgrounds, some of which are also old illustrations. I think of all these as mixed media pieces rather than collages, because the media themselves (the old photos and illustrations) are the interesting part (at least to me).
